We all know that everything involving water plays an essential role in our lives. You may have not noticed yet, but beaches are one of these essentials and you should visit them more often.
Why should you visit the beach more often? Because the beach is a place where you can have fun, exercise, meditate, meet people, relax, and so much more. Beaches are a place for so many amazing things.

1- Beaches are a great place to exercise
What a better place to run or swim than on a beach?
Running is by far one of the most common exercises a human can do. There is no doubt that running is a great way to stay fit and healthy.
Running barefoot on sand however is on a different level. It is much more effective to run on sand than to run on hard surfaces since it requires more energy and effort from you.
You’ll be consuming more energy when running on sand. Your legs will have to suffer more on sand because the sand deforms once your feet hit the ground, which requires extra effort from you to keep yourself balanced and not fall.

What about swimming?
Again, swimming is a great exercise for the body. Some people refer to swimming as the ‘perfect exercise’. Why? Because you are moving your whole body while enjoying your time and having fun. If that’s not perfect, then what is?
There are tremendous benefits for swimming in general. However, swimming on the beach is even better.
When swimming on the beach, you have the water waves to worry about. The waves will force your body to act more than it would when you’re swimming in a pool with calm water.
The more the water moves, the more energy your body will have to use because you will constantly be trying to adapt to the change in the water around you.
What makes swimming on the beach even better is the salt that exists in the water.
The salty water in the beach is extremely beneficial for your skin and your whole body in general. The beach water is also usually clean, which makes swimming there a better option than swimming inside a pool.
I had so many skin issues because of swimming in pools, and I learned the hard way that swimming in salty water at the beach is much better.
So now that you know that swimming at the beach is much better, I have to mention that you really need to be careful when swimming at the beach. Do not approach the beach unless you are 100% sure that it’s safe to swim in it as sometimes the waves can be very high and the water can be very tricky.
2- A great place to have fun
Besides running and swimming, being on the beach is fun.
There are so many things that you can do while on the beach. You could play football or soccer with your friends on the sand (If you haven’t tried it yet, then you’re missing a lot). You could play tennis, volleyball, and you could do some artwork with the sand.

In general, holding sand with your hands is extremely satisfying, and making sculptures with the infinite amount of grains of sand around you is a great way to have fun.
If you have kids and you have taken them to the beach before, then you already know what I am talking about.
There are many other options when it comes to having fun on the beach but I’ll leave you with these.
3 – A great place to meet new people and make friends
This is where going to the beach gets even better.
Meeting new people is always great on so many different levels. It can widen your circle, push your depression away, and keep you busy in your free time.
What a better place to meet people than on a beach?
I almost always ask the people who are playing soccer on the beach if they allow me to join them, and they almost never say no.
I ended up meeting a lot of people and making a lot of friends that way. You should give that a try too. Try to approach people and ask to join them, you’ll be surprised at the number of people who will be happy if you join them.
So meeting people on the beach and making friends is a great reason why you should go to the beach more often.
4 – A great place to relax and meditate
Finally, the beach is a great place to relax for so many reasons.
Listening to the endless sounds of waves moving back and forth on the shore is priceless. Just sit in there, close your eyes, and enjoy the musical masterpiece presented to you by nature itself.
Staring at the blue ocean is also extremely relaxing. All of what you see is an open space of infinite amounts of water across the horizon.
Instead of having to process the thousands of things that your eyes stumble across everyday, all you see when staring at the beach is infinite blue water.
One thing to note here too is that staring at things that are far away from you is good for your eye because it relaxes some of the muscles in your eyes, so staring at the horizon is good for your eyes.
