The spookiest audio and video clips on the Internet

No matter how often you use the Internet, it can always surprise you with things you never expected. Some of them are very useful while others can be super disturbing.

If you are easily scared, maybe you should stop reading right now! This list contains some of the spookiest audio and video clips you may encounter online. Proceed at your own risk!

1. The sounds schizophrenic people hear

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects people’s perception of reality. It can cause hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior. One of the famous people with schizophrenia was John Nash, a mathematician who won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.

If you ever wondered how people with this mental disorder live, doctors made a reconstruction of the sounds schizophrenic people hear. This reconstruction is also validated by people who suffer from schizophrenia as something they hear often. Put on your headphones and give it a listen:

There are also longer versions you can check. This gives you an idea about how much people with schizophrenia suffer in their daily life!

2. The death whistle

The death whistle is an Aztec instrument that produces loud, ear piercing screams that resemble a human scream. These whistles were used in war to strike fear in the hearts of the enemies while attacking. If you think a whistle can’t be that scary, think again!

PS: You can even buy your own for a couple of bucks and scare the shit out of your friends!

3. r/watchpeopledie

If you ever used Reddit before, you’ll know that there’s a subreddit for everything! Unfortunately, that means that there are some very disturbing subreddits out there. r/watchpeopledie was one of them. It used to have videos of people literally dying.

However, Reddit banned this subreddit after it re-hosted videos of the mosque massacres in New Zealand. Even though we’re not posting any spooky audio or video clips here, we thought this subreddit was worth mentioning in the list.

4. Operation wandering soul

Spooky sounds can be helpful in wars to inflict fear in the enemies. That’s why the US Military created this recording. It used to be played over loud speakers on helicopters and on the ground in Vietnam to scare the enemy (since the Vietnamese soldiers were so superstitious).

The recording sounds like a ghost and prompts the enemy to surrender. Here’s a remastered version of this recording:

If you’re looking for the original version, you can find it here.

5. Last words…

Have you ever wondered what the last words before a plane crash were? There’s a website that hosts a number of cockpit voice recordings, transcripts and air traffic control tapes involving plane crashes. Listening to or reading the last words of the pilots involved can be very spooky.

6. The original night stalker

The Original Night Stalker is the name given to an unidentified serial killer who terrorized families throughout California. The following recording was found on one of the victims’s answering machine, which the police believe to be the original night stalker:

7. Space sounds

Did you know that NASA has a SoundCloud account? One of the playlists in it is a compilation of radio emissions by planets that were converted to sound waves. You may find that some of the planets sound like demons!

The spookiest audio and video clips on the Internet end here…

… or do they? As a matter of fact, they don’t. The Internet is full of things like the ones you just saw, and it would be extremely hard to collect them all in one place.

As for now, we’d like to congratulate you for making it this far. You can now go enjoy your day in peace!
